Jan’s Claw (video soon)

Claws, Jan’s

Colors: Pale Olive, Pale orange, tan
Sizes: #8-10
Imitates: Crayfish
Useful for: Fishing crayfish under an indicator or using short line nymphing methods. Great on the Truckee River from late spring to early fall. The overall transparency of the fly really imitates the freshly molted crayfish. I try to match the color of my crayfish with the bottom. (Dark bottom=Orange) (Light Bottom=Tan or Gray) (Mixed=Olive)
Tricks/Techniques: Best when water temperatures reach a minimum of 55 degrees. Try fishing this as a top fly on a two fly indicator rig.
