North Fork Little Humboldt River

North Fork Little Humboldt River, Nevada

Fly Fishing the North Fork of the Little Humboldt River:  The Little Humboldt River is a small river by most standards. Its banks are mostly choked with vegetation and fishing most of the times requires wading up the middle to access more water. Small rainbow trout and a few brookies exist higher in the river but I have yet to confirm that. Large dries and terrestrials on the surface are productive most of the season. A nymph dropper can be utilized when flows allow in spring and early summer. The Little Humboldt is rarely a destination location itself, most fishing pressure comes from the few hunters passing through the area. If your in the Hinkey Summit/Little Humboldt River area, be sure to hit Martin Creek as well.
