Wood Duck Callibaetis, Jan’s
Imitates: Callibaetis nymphs in reservoirs and slow moving rivers.
Useful for: Retrieving behind various sinking lines enticing some of the areas largest and smartest trout.
Tricks/Techniques: This pattern is best retrieved slowly behind your favorite floating or sinking line. For really sketchy trout try a camo intermediate sinking line and a 12′ or longer leader. This technique is also highly effective behind floating lines when less stealthy is an option. Of the patterns in my box this guy is on of the most realistic especially with how narrow the overall design is.
This fly is hand tied at my own bench in the United States of America under the highest of scrutiny. A tested and proven pattern.
