Jan’s Ragdoll is an extra heavy stonefly nymph great for anchoring high-stick rigs, as well as fishing under an indicator in faster water.
Imitates: Stonefly and larger nymphs in rivers.
Useful for: The larger faster rivers in the west. Getting the flies down quickly in fast turbulent water while nymphing with or without an indicator.
Tricks/Techniques: This pattern is the heaviest of the stones that I tie, very useful for high stick nymphing. This pattern rolls well in heavy water and the flash helps it get noticed. Careful not to hit yourself casting this beast cause it may leave a mark.
This fly is hand tied at my own bench in the United States of America under the highest of scrutiny. A tested and proven pattern.
