The Floating Tui Chub for Pyramid Lake is a floating version of Jan’s standard bunny chub. Used on the surface in the early fall when bait balls are present or fished reverse jig style behind a fast sinking line.
Imitates: Pyramid Lake Tui Chub.
Useful for: Warmwater, coldwater, and saltwater species. Highly effective for large Lahontan Cutthroat at Pyramid Lake when fishing near bait balls or when vegetation covers the bottom of the lake.
Tricks/Techniques: Rip this pattern along the edge bait balls in open water or around the schools along the shore in Fall. Fish this on a clear intermediate or floating line to keep it near the surface or take it down with a sink tip, full sink, or shooting head. Great to have in your box when the vegetation takes over the bottom in late spring. Fish this pattern with a beetle trailer with a slower retrieve to keep well above the snot
This fly is hand tied at my own bench in the United States of America under the highest of scrutiny. A tested and proven pattern.
