The Blood Midge Emerger is a staple pattern for those fishing in Northern Nevada and the Sierra Nevada’s lakes and reservoirs. The Jay Fair Marabou body breathers extremely well and draws even the pickiest trout in.
Imitates: The famous Sierra Blood Midge
Useful for: Trout fishing in the Sierra Nevada and Northern Nevada stillwaters.
Tricks/Techniques: Blood Midge emergence typically occurs just before dark. This dry is great for fishing right up to dark with it’s highly visible white foam wing. Best fished through the hatch in the evenings then can catch again early in the morning before the sun hits the water.
This fly is hand tied at my own bench in the United States of America under the highest of scrutiny. A tested and proven pattern.
