The Area 51 Leech is a great multi-species stinger style leech pattern that greatly reduces the dreaded short strike. An overall silhouette design the added flash highlight underwing is just the right amount of flash.
Imitates: Baitfish and Leech
Useful for: Warmwater, coldwater, and saltwater species. Highly effective at Pyramid Lake and other great basin reservoirs for bass and larger trout.
Tricks/Techniques: If retrieved behind a sink tip or floating line the dumbell eyes help give it an jigging effect while riding stinger point up. when fished behind full sinking lines great depths can be achieved due to its heavy design. Medium pauses between fast paced 12 inch strips allow this fly to swim and jig like wounded or fleeing baitfish. Creep it along the bottom during the coldest months when fishing slows and temperatures plunge.
This fly is hand tied at my own bench in the United States of America under the highest of scrutiny. A tested and proven pattern.
